The journey

Healing does not happen on a schedule. It happens when the days finally slow down enough for the body and mind to catch up.

For three weeks you live in Chiang Mai — not in a hotel, but in a furnished apartment-home of your own, with a kitchen, a quiet lane, and the unhurried rhythm of a resident rather than a tourist. Gentle wellness is folded into ordinary days: a morning of meditation in a temple garden, a traditional Thai massage in the afternoon, an unhurried visit to a jungle temple, then nothing at all. The point is the space between, not the activity.

In the final week you move to a serene mountain wellness lodge to consolidate everything you have softened into. A host you'll come to know by name, an English-speaking guide a phone call away throughout, and an itinerary built entirely around rest, restoration, and genuine Northern Thai culture — never a checklist, never a packed coach, never a show. For deeply experienced travellers who know that the slowest journeys go furthest.

Week by week

Week One · Days 1–7 Chiang Mai — Settle & Soften
🛬

Day 1 · The soft landingArrival your way

Private airport greeting — no queues, no confusion. A calm transfer to your apartment-home inside the old walled city: kitchen stocked, kettle on, slippers waiting. Nothing planned but a gentle Northern welcome dinner when you're ready. We hand you a local SIM, a 24/7 contact card, and a short "first 48 hours" briefing that quietly removes stress before it starts.

🧘

Day 3 · The first stillnessMorning yoga & meditation at Wat Suan Dok

Gentle guided yoga and meditation in the calm grounds of a historic temple, led in English at a pace built for restoration rather than challenge. Home by midday; the rest of the day is entirely yours. For many guests this is the moment the unwinding truly begins.

Local note: We choose Wat Suan Dok specifically for its quietness and the monk-chat tradition there — conversation, not performance.
🛕

Day 5 · Temples, slowlyWat Chedi Luang & Wat Phra Singh

A gentle morning among the old-city temples — visited at conversation pace, with plenty of shaded places to sit and the history told as a story rather than a lecture. Days 2, 4 and 7 are entirely free: market, massage, nap, balcony, your choice.

💆

Day 6 · Hands at restTraditional Thai massage

An afternoon traditional Thai massage at a reputable old-city studio — therapeutic, unhurried, and exactly what week-one muscles need. The weekly massage rhythm, once established, carries through the whole journey.

Week Two · Days 8–14 Chiang Mai — Deepen the Practice
⛰️

Day 8 · The mountain templeWat Phra That Doi Suthep — early morning

An early, gentle visit to Chiang Mai's most revered temple for the soft morning light and the long city view below. The cable car spares the steps entirely. Home by midday; the afternoon is yours. We go early — Doi Suthep before the tour buses is a genuinely meditative place.

Local note: The morning mist over the city from this height on a clear November day is one of the quietly extraordinary sights of Northern Thailand.
🍃

Day 10 · Flavour & flowThai Farm Cooking — organic farm class

A relaxed half-day at a family-run organic farm outside town: a gentle market visit, shaded farm seating, door-to-door transport, and as hands-on as you wish. Healing food, made by your own hands. Home by mid-afternoon.

🌿

Day 11 · The jungle templeWat Pha Lat

A serene morning at the forest temple on the mountain's lower slope — birdsong, a stream, almost no one there. A short guided meditation among the trees if you wish, then home. One of Chiang Mai's best-kept secrets.

🌸

Day 12 · Spa afternoonFull spa treatment at Fah Lanna Spa

A full oil massage and spa session at one of Chiang Mai's finest wellness studios — a garden setting, English-speaking therapists, nowhere to rush off to. Morning free. By this point in the journey, the body knows what it needs.

Week Three · Days 15–21 Chiang Mai — Make It Yours & Move On
🎨

Day 15 · Living craftBo Sang umbrella village

A gentle half-day at the traditional handicraft village — watch master artisans paint intricate designs on hand-stretched paper parasols, and try a small piece yourself if the spirit moves you. No pressure, no rush, no crowds.

🙏

Day 17 · The deeper practiceOptional Thai massage course (or free day)

For those drawn to it, the first session of an accredited Thai massage course — learning the art with your own hands at a recognised old-city school. For everyone else, a free day or a quiet return to Wat Suan Dok for temple meditation. Several guests arrive curious and leave able to give a real Thai massage at home.

Local note: A quiet remarkable souvenir of a healing month — the skill travels home with you.

Day 18 · Stillness, againReturn to yoga & meditation

A return to gentle yoga and guided meditation at Wat Suan Dok — and a chance to feel, plainly, how much has softened since Day 3. Many guests find this second session more profound than the first. Afternoon free.

🏔️

Day 21 · To the mountainsTransfer to the wellness lodge

A calm, scenic drive out of the city to your mountain wellness lodge in the hills — rice fields and forested slopes going by the window, everything handled. The old city fades; a different, quieter pace begins.

Final Week · Days 22–28 The Wellness Lodge — Consolidate & Renew
🌄

Day 22 · Arrive into quietMountain lodge arrival

Settle into the lodge — mountain air, a spa, terraced gardens, and a slower gear still. A wellness consultation sets a gentle plan for the week; nothing is mandatory. After three weeks of self-paced city life, the gentle structure of a lodge feels like a reward rather than a regime — the order is deliberate.

🧖

Day 23 · Morning movementSunrise yoga + spa treatment

Gentle guided yoga at sunrise, a long unhurried breakfast, and a spa treatment in the afternoon. Between sessions: the pool, the mountain view, and time. The lodge program includes daily yoga and spa access — taken at your pace.

🌿

Day 25 · Restoration dayHerbal steam, long massage & meditation

A full day given over to the body — herbal steam, a long therapeutic massage, and a quiet meditation session. Slow meals, early to bed. Days 24 and 26 are completely open: pool, garden, or simply your balcony and the mountain silence.

🕯️

Day 27 · The long tableFarewell dinner with your hosts

A relaxed farewell dinner with the guides and hosts you've come to know over a month — the closest thing to leaving friends, and the gentlest way to close a healing journey. The most frequent guest observation: "I didn't want to leave."

Good to know

Is this journey suitable if I have mobility limitations?

Yes — this journey is specifically designed for travellers 55+ and those seeking restoration rather than exertion. All wellness sessions are gentle: restorative yoga, guided meditation, Thai massage. Most days have one easy activity with a free afternoon, and several days are entirely free. The mountain lodge has spa facilities accessible without strenuous climbing. Tell us about any conditions before departure and we adapt every element accordingly.

What exactly is the old-city apartment?

A fully furnished private apartment — not a hotel room — within Chiang Mai's moated old city. It has a kitchen (for those who like to potter), a washing machine, a comfortable sitting area, and the kind of quiet residential lane that quickly starts to feel like home. Living as a resident rather than a tourist is central to the healing experience: you shop at the corner market, you know your massage studio by name, the city becomes yours rather than a backdrop.

When is the best time of year?

November to March: cool, dry, and the finest weather of the year in Northern Thailand. Mornings are crisp (15–22°C), days are clear and sunny, and you escape the Northern hemisphere winter entirely. This season also coincides with the most beautiful temple festivals and the quietest old-city evenings. We run this journey in other months by request, with adjustments for the warmer weather.

How far in advance should we book?

For November–February departures, 10–12 weeks ahead — primarily to secure both the monthly apartment and the wellness lodge dates together, as quality options book out. For March and shoulder months, 6–8 weeks is usually sufficient. We send a full, itemised proposal within 48 hours of your enquiry, and hold dates provisionally for 7 days while you decide.

This journey is designed for your group alone.

No other guests, no mixed groups, no fixed departure dates. Your Healing Month is planned entirely around your people, your pace, and your needs — from the apartment we choose to the wellness sessions we book.
